Regenerative Endodontics

If you have a permanent tooth that hasn’t fully developed and is infected, regenerative endodontic treatment might be a better alternative to a traditional root canal procedure. This condition may have been caused by caries or an injury to the tooth during the tooth development, preventing the tooth from growing to its full size. In these cases, regenerative endodontics can be performed to resolve the infection as well as give the tooth root a chance to develop.

Regenerative Endodontics in Westerville

At our Westerville office, Dr. Mason Bahador offers Regenerative Endodontic treatments that will support the tooth’s growth and strengthen the root. Endodontic regeneration procedure is usually performed in two appointments. During the first appointment, the root canal is cleaned and disinfected, and a medication is placed on the inside of the canal. In the second appointment, the medication is removed and stem cells at the base of the root are stimulated and guided inside the root canal. The tooth is then sealed on the top. Root Regeneration (root thickening and lengthening) usually takes 3 to 24 months to complete.
